Great Kingshill Church of England Combined School

Great Kingshill Church of England Combined School Growing together. Faith in our Future. Member of Kings Education Trust

Mr Taylor Lacey - Teacher

It’s a hard job teaching. I came to realise that very quickly when I started this year. That being said - even if it’s a cliché - it is the best job in the world.

I’ve lived in High Wycombe my whole life. I started off going through the numerous Holmer Green primary schools, until I eventually ended up at RGS. Whether I belonged there or not in the end is a different question, alas I didn’t do too badly! Throughout school, I went through a plethora of bands, all coming to their inevitable demise, which is what made me want to go into music. Apparently, I did well enough to be able to attend the University of Westminster studying Commercial Music.

Obviously, seeing as I am writing this now, I clearly didn’t become the next Ed Sheeran. I only started teaching properly at the start of this year (2018, if you’re reading this from the future), and it’s been a rollercoaster. I started at Great Kingshill as a nervous teaching assistant, starting yet another job, with the hopes that me being ‘good with kids’ will actually become useful. It was the best job decision I ever made. I love everyone I work with: the staff; the kids; everyone. I absolutely adore my job and I truly hope that the children enjoy working with me, as much as I enjoy working with them.
