I have always loved school, both as a pupil (I was a former pupil at GKCS a ‘few’ years ago) and now as a teacher. My passion is Early Years and supporting children to develop the characteristics and skills which will set them up for a lifetime of learning so I am delighted to be the Pre-School teacher at GKCS. I haven’t always been a teacher; for many years I worked in advertising and marketing but teaching was always at the back of my mind. After having children, I decided it was time to follow my heart and become a teacher, specialising in Early Years.
Every day at Pre-School is different and you never know where the children’s play will go. We know that children are most engaged and learn most through play that builds on their interests so getting to know the children and finding ways to encourage them to develop their skills by building on their individual interests is hugely rewarding. It is fascinating to see how creative the children can be with our resources; their ideas and play never fail to surprise, impress and often amuse us! It is a huge privilege to nurture our pre-school children and help them grow in confidence and independence ahead of starting school.
