The Pre-School years play an important part in the journey to having a lifelong love of learning and our aim is to inspire, support and encourage your children on this journey. It is a huge privilege for us to play a part in your child’s learning.
Your child will take part in a range of carefully planned adult-led and child-initiated activities taking place both indoors and outdoors. While we sometimes explore mini ‘topics’, we tend to focus on their interests and go with whatever they are interested in at that time. Children will develop as individuals and will explore and experiment in order to find things out for themselves through exciting and thought-provoking activities.
We strongly believe in nurturing the children so that they feel safe and confident in their environment, enabling the children to grow in confidence and independence in everything they do.
The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum will give children the stepping stone that they need to start them on their journey through school. The curriculum consists of 7 areas of learning which are:
· Personal, social and emotional development
· Communication and language
· Physical development
· Literacy
· Mathematical Development
· Understanding the world
· Expressive arts and design
The characteristics of effective learning, also underpin a child’s learning as they are demonstrated in all that your child does. These are:
· Playing and Exploring
· Active Learning
· Thinking critically
